BR1202_Band7_Calibration.py: Calibration script BR1202_Band7_Imaging.py: Imaging script --------------------------------------------------------------- These scripts calibrate and image the ALMA BR1202 Band 7 Science Verification dataset uid___A002_X36ffba_X3ef that was observed on 14 January 2012. Additional data taken on January 16th is also available (see below for further details). --------------------------------------------------------------- BR1202_Band7_Calibration.py: This script runs calibrates the ALMA BR1202 Band 7 Science Verification dataset uid___A002_X36ffba_X3ef. Copy the script into the directory containing the uncalibrated data and tables for reduction. Flags at the top of the script control which steps in the script run. If these are all set to True then the script should produce the calibrated data available for download. BR1202_Band7_Imaging.py: This script carries out imaging and analysis of ALMA Band 7 SV data on BR1202. Move it into the directory containing the BR1202 Calibrated Data (MS name uid___A002_X36ffba_X3ef.cal.ms) and execute it to proceed. Individual parts of the script can be run by setting the flags at the top of the script (in the section "CONTROL PROGRAM FLOW"). As downloaded, the flags set to "True" should cause the script to reproduce the reference images without plotting or interaction. --------------------------------------------------------------- BR1202_Band7_UnCalibratedMSAndTablesForReduction.tgz contains: * uid___A002_X36ffba_X3ef.ms * uid___A002_X36ffba_X3ef.ms.antpos and wvr (water vapour radiometry) and Tsys (system temperature) tables: * uid___A002_X36ffba_X3ef.tsys * uid___A002_X36ffba_X3ef.wvrcal These tables are generated from instrumental measurements and have been checked. BR1202_Band7_CalibratedMS.tgz contains the end product of BR1202_Band7_Calibration.py i.e.: * uid___A002_X36ffba_X3ef.cal.ms BR1202_Band7_ReferenceImages.tgz contains: * BR1202.cont.selfcal.clean.image * BR1202.line.selfcal.clean.image * BR1202.line.selfcal.image.mom0 * BR1202.cont.fits * BR1202.line.fits * BR1202.line.mom0.fits BR1202_Band7_UnCalibratedMS_Jan16.tgz contains: * uid___A002_X373584_X24c.ms This data was taken on 16th January under good conditions (about 0.7mm of precipitable water) and at quite high elevation. It therefore has better sensitivity than the data taken on 14th January. No measurements of the system temperature were made, however, so the standard calibration process that makes use of that information cannot be carried out. Fortunately on this occasion the system and the atmosphere were sufficiently stable and the source is sufficiently bright to employ self-calibration when making the image. This will not of course provide the correct flux scale but that could be obtained by scaling to match the January 14th data. Note also that the corrections for short term water vapour fluctuations have not been applied since the atmospheric fluctuations were small.
