ALMA OT Release Notes for Cycle 3PhaseII
Summary list of the key new capabilities, features and improvements for the Cycle3PhaseII OT.
- For Science goals with multiple source velocities/spectral scans each tuning goes into a separate Observing Group
- One source from each group is set as the "Doppler Reference"
- This source is used to set the tuning for all sources in that Group
- For Science Goals with Custom mosaics:
- TP observes a rectangle encompassing pointings
- 7-m array Nyquist samples the same rectangle, with unnecessary pointings removed
- For autogenerated TP Scheduling Blocks Multiple sources are now written to the same SB
- Values for expected RMS are now written into the SB ScienceParameters for each target, for pipeline to read
- For each array, the expected rms in the image from that array is written into the target's ScienceParameters
- This was previously set to the requested rms for each SB
- Frequency Profile Synthesis for ACA is now done in the CDP, not the ACA correlator, so ACA-only modes no longer required
- Check sources now have their own intent
- WVR ("AP") corrected and uncorrected data are output by default
- For Polarization SBs the SessionControl expert parameter is set automatically
ALMA OT Release Notes for Cycle 3 (Update 1)
Update 1 addresses the following known issues for Cycle 3:
- C3_001: The time shown on the Cover Sheet for "Multiple visit" Science Goals is too high
- C3_002: Copy and paste of a Science Goal followed by an edit of the spectral setup can cause the source line width to change.
- C3_003: The time estimate in brackets is not always that due to the sensitivity, but also includes certain minima.
- C3_004: Time overrides when two 12-m configurations are required cannot be requested.
- C3_005: It is possible to define multiple clusters of pointings using the custom mosaic option.
- C3_006: The polarization non-standard time on the cover sheet is too long.
- C3_007: Changing between Doppler types doesn't always work properly.
- C3_010: Moving to a new Science Goal deselects ACA in the original Science Goal
